Follow the steps below to set up your eSIM. Installation takes less than 2 minutes.
Connect to Wi-Fi first. Do not close the screen or switch apps during installation โ this may cause it to fail. Have your QR code email ready on another device.
Go to Settings โ Cellular โ Add eSIM
Tap "Use QR Code" and scan the QR code from your confirmation email using a second device.
Your iPhone will install the eSIM โ takes about 30 seconds. Don't leave the screen.
When prompted to label your plan, choose something easy to identify.
Set Default Voice Line โ Main (your regular SIM). Set Cellular Data โ Korea eSIM. Turn off "Allow Cellular Data Switching".
Go to Settings โ Cellular โ Korea eSIM and turn the line off. Keep it off until you land.
Go to Settings โ Cellular โ Korea eSIM and toggle it on.
In the same screen, make sure Data Roaming is ON. This is required for the eSIM to work.
Tap Network Selection and set to Automatic. You'll connect to SKT, KT, or LGU+ automatically.
You should see bars appear within 30 seconds of turning the eSIM on in Korea. If not, toggle airplane mode on and off once.
Go to Settings โ Connections โ SIM Card Manager
Tap "Add Mobile Plan" โ "Scan Carrier QR Code"
Point your camera at the QR code from your email. Use a second device to display it. Tap "Add".
Tap "Ok" to activate the new plan. Your eSIM is installed.
In SIM Card Manager, toggle the Korea eSIM off until you land in Korea.
Go to Settings โ Connections โ SIM Card Manager and enable the Korea eSIM.
In Connections โ Mobile Networks, turn on Mobile Data and Data Roaming.
Go to Mobile Networks โ Network Operators and tap Search Now. Select a Korean network (SKT, KT, or LGU+) or leave on Automatic.
You should be connected within a minute of landing. If not, turn airplane mode on and off to refresh the connection.
